About Miss North

Welcome to my blog!!! This blog is for my class on my adventures of learning new things and trying them out and seeing how they work.  I love being a teacher!  I love trying new things and I wanted to share some things about me:

I have a wonderful family, I am the second oldest of nine kids and I love it so much!! I also have a niece on the way.  I am super excited to be an aunt.





I love doing fun things!! I love doing things with my friends like going bowling, singing and going to choir concerts, and go rock climbing!! 




I am also always pulling faces!  It brings joy and laughter to the lives of all who see.  I love to smile and laugh.  One of my favorite quotes is "A Smile is a Curve that Makes Everything Straight" It is so simple but it makes a big difference.


I had an amazing opportunity to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chicago Illinois.  One of the cool things I got to do was visit the bull stadium.  





I am excited to start this new year with you!!

Christmas Fun!!! - Youtube

How exciting!!! It is that time of year! Christmas time!!! This year we are going to be talking about all sorts of Christmas music throughout the world and the different kinds of instruments. It is going to be a blast!!


This first piece is a lady playing jingle bells on the recorder. I thought this would be great for you all to listen to as we will be playing it together as a class as part of our program the end of the month.

My reflection:
I already loved Youtube but I love it even more knowing that I can make different playlists.  I've never done that before so that was a lot of fun!!!

The Water Cylce - Animoto


I am exited for you guys to check out this new tool I discovered!  This video will be a refresher from what we learned today during science about the water system.  I really liked using this tool (Animoto) because it is was really easy to follow.  I even enjoyed that I could add some of my own pictures along with others from the web.  See if you can figure out which pictures are mine! Have fun!

Martin Luther King Jr. - Tiki-Toki




I am so excited to be talking about Martin Luther King this week and for everything that he did for us.  We are going to be doing several things related to this event and even create our own speeches. Throughout the week we will be looking at different parts of his life.  I have made a timeline for us to look at:Martin Luther King Jr

I had so much fun making this project using Tiki-Toki, I loved how easy it was to use and it looks really nice.  I am proud of how this project turned out!  I am most definitely going to be using it in the future.

Mr. Sun - Emaze

I enjoyed using emaze but I don't know if I will use it in the future.  I like it but not my favorite tool.  But I still had fun putting it together and learning how it works.  I choose to do my topic about the Sun and what the Sun is like and what it effects.  It was interesting reading about the sun.  I remember learning about it in school which is were I got the idea of doing the science experiment.  I made a oven and cooked a cookie at school and it worked! and it tasted good which was a bonus.

Students will understand that the sun is the main source of heat and light for things living on Earth. They will also understand that the motion of rubbing objects together may produce heat.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Newspaper Article




Happy Turkey Day from me to you!!

What a wonderful time a month we have, to remember what we are thankful for.  I just wanted to share with you all our class newspaper.  I did send it with your students but I understand that doesn't always make it home and I have gotten feedback from you wonderful parents that you would like a copy of it as well.  I will do my best to keep my blog with the information that is going on in class.

I liked making a newspaper for my classroom.  I know it is something I will use in the future.  I am definitely more comfortable with it now.

Utah History - Flyer

I am so excited for our upcoming event.  All the fourth graders have been working really hard for our performance.

Utah History Music Flyer

I learned how to link PDFs which is cool and I will most definitely use in the future.  I am sure I will be making flyers all the time.  I found out that google drive has a drawing folder which is what I used to create my flyer.  I really liked it.  I will be using it in the future for sure!
